Customers want three things: what you do, where, and your number
Someone with a broken gate, a leaking tap or a paddock to fence isn't browsing. They want to know you do the job, that you'll come to them, and how to call. A single, well-ordered page answers all three without making anyone hunt through menus.
One page is also quick to load on a phone with patchy signal at a rural property. Our sites run no scripts and load no outside fonts or files, so there's very little to download.
If you later want separate pages for each service or a gallery of jobs, you can add pages (+NZ$59 each) or move up to the full site.
What a good tradie page covers
- Your trade, and the jobs you want more of. If you'd rather do new builds than small repairs, say so, and the page leads with them.
- The towns and areas you cover. Whatever's true for you: Christchurch suburbs, Rolleston and Lincoln, out to Darfield or Leeston. Saying where you don't go saves you calls too.
- A phone number that dials when tapped, plus your email if you want quotes in writing.
- How quoting works. Free quotes, call-out fees, after-hours work. Only what you tell us goes on the page.
- Your registrations and licences, only if you hold them. If you're a Licensed Building Practitioner or a registered electrician, plumber or gasfitter, tell us and we'll say so. We never add a credential you didn't give us.
- Hours and response times, if you want customers to know them.
What it won't have: made-up reviews, star ratings or "20 years' experience" you didn't mention. Every fact on the page comes from you.
This is all we need to start
You type a short description into our builder, the way you'd explain your business to someone at the pub. For example:
“Fencing contractor based in Selwyn. Post and rail, deer fencing, stock yards, gates and repairs on lifestyle blocks and farms around Darfield, Kirwee and Lincoln. Free quotes. Happy to travel into Christchurch for bigger jobs.” Then your phone number and email.
That's enough for a complete page: a headline that says what you do, your services, the area you cover, how quotes work and a tap-to-call button. You then get three free rounds of changes, such as "put the phone number at the top" or "lead with deer fencing", or a completely fresh design. You can also add your logo; that doesn't use up a round.
This is an illustration of a brief, not a real business.

Straight answers
I've got a Facebook page. Do I need a website as well?
A Facebook page is good for updates, but you don't control it, and not every customer uses Facebook. A website is yours: it can show up when people search for your trade and town, and you can put the address on your van, quotes and invoices. Link the two together.
Can customers send me a quote request through the site?
Yes, by tapping to call or email you. We deliberately don't use web forms: there's nothing to break, and no stored customer data for you to look after.
Can I put photos of my work on it?
The first build uses graphics drawn for your business rather than photos. Once you've bought it, send us photos of your work and we'll add them; that counts as a small change, included for the first 12 months.
I don't have a logo. Is that a problem?
No. The site is designed without one, and you can add a logo any time before you buy (+NZ$99 to rebuild the design around it).
I'm flat out. How much of my time does this take?
A couple of minutes to describe your business, then a look at the preview on your phone. There are no meetings and no forms to fill in.
What if I don't like it?
Close the tab. You owe nothing, and the preview expires by itself after 14 days.
